Murphy is the student of the cinema school, he starts a new relationship with a girl on the name Electra, who is unstable which makes the relationship highly sexual and emotional. Though the fact that he is in the relationship doesn't prevent him from sleeping with another woman Omi one day, whom he makes pregnant by accident. He receives a call from Electra's mother as she is worried about her suicidal tendencies and hasn't heard from her for a long time already. The whole situation makes Murphy fall into recalling of their past with Electra, filled with tender moments, drug abuse and rough sex.

When "Love" works, Noé achieves a lulling, melancholic frenzy about sex and memory, but the foundation isn't strong enough to make his movie ever seem more than a stereoscopic fermata: one envelope-pushing note held way too long.

Noé deserves credit for putting sex so boldly at the front and center of his new romance and depicting it as an essential part of love and life that's largely left off screen.

A sincere but repetitive drone of a picture... "Love" feels deeply, but not complexly.
